Construction workers across the state of New York are responsible for building and maintaining physical structures. Unfortunately, New York recently saw one of the dangers that exist on a construction site when a construction worker was seriously injured. According to news reports, a 44-year-old construction worker was severely injured recently when a cinderblock fell on him.
Reports claim that the cinderblock fell at least five feet before hitting the construction worker. As a result of this workplace accident, the construction worker was left critically injured. The worker was taken to a local hospital for treatment. However, his condition was unknown at the time of the report.
Falling objects are one of many risks construction workers face on construction sites in New York. When these dangerous workplace accidents occur, construction workers should understand their legal rights. This includes the right to workers’ compensation following serious construction accidents.
