New York construction worker hurt on the job

Construction workers often work in dangerous conditions in order to complete projects that benefit New York. However, just because these workers are in an inherently more dangerous profession, the fact is that if they are hurt while on the job they are still entitled to receive workers' compensation for their injuries.

Recently, one New York construction worker was injured in a workplace accident. The man was part of a crew building a four-story, city-owned parking deck in Saratoga Springs.

It was around 10:30 a.m. when a concrete side panel somehow fell out of place and hit the construction worker in the head and back. When the fire department arrived on the scene the man was conscious. He was transported to a local hospital with lower back spasms and pain.

According to city officials, this was the first workplace accident to happen at this construction site.

In this case it appears the worker hurt his back. This type of injury can be particularly debilitating as it makes moving any part of the body painful and can require ongoing medical treatment. However, when a worker is hurt on the job, the issue also often goes beyond just the physical pain, as there is also dealing with time away from work and filing a workers' compensation claim, which can be a frustrating and complicated process.

Fortunately, an attorney with experience in workers' compensation can work with an employer's insurance carrier and sort through all of the details of the workplace injury claim.
